The following application materials are required:

• Essay (two page limit):

• • Prompt: Discuss an experience or a concept that has led you
    to apply to the Engineering Summer Academy at Penn. What excites you about the field of engineering? What sort of impact on your community, the world, society, etc. would you like to make with your skills gained from this program? Lastly, describe any skills, software and programming proficiencies, or talents that will make you successful in the ESAP program.

• OFFICIAL high school transcript: sent directly from your school via Parchment

• Limit to 1 Letter of Recommendation: Contact information for your recommenders must be submitted on the online application (name, phone number, and email address). They will then be emailed instructions for submitting their letter online. Your letter of recommendation must be written by a math or science teacher.

• $90 non-refundable application fee

• **Standardized Test scores: PSAT, SAT I/ II, ACT, AP, TOEFL, DET, IELTS

**Standardized test scores are optional.  If you have taken any of the above tests and feel that your scores will strengthen your application, please submit them.  Upload a copy of your scores in the “Standardized Tests” section of the online application.  International students: please refer to our International Student page regarding TOEFL scores and English language requirements.

Official high school transcripts can be sent via parchment.

• Have your school counselor/administrator send your official transcripts to “University of Pennsylvania – School of Engineering and Applied Science – Graduate Admissions & ESAP”
• If your school does not use an electronic transcript service, please have your school counselor/administrator send your official transcripts to pennesap@boldsummers.com
